Ard G Emery [1834-????]

>>> Ard G Emery is the son of Temple Hosea Emery and Diana Godfrey. He was born in the Town of Orono, Penobscot County, Maine on 19 June 1833. No details of his childhood are known, except that he was the middle child of five children. In May 1863 he is found living in Hancock, Michigan, paying a $10.00 tax for operating a business as a photographer. By May of 1864 he relocated to Marquette, Michigan and continued his career as a photographer paying taxes on his business regularly until 1874. While living in Marquette he marries Agnes C. Cole, of Wales, NY in February 1865. Ard and Agnes have three children; Diana G., born in 1866, Edwin A., born in 1868, and Arthur L, born in 1873. Sometime after 1874 he takes his family to Rockford, Ill., and engages in the sale of sewing machines, but eventually moves his family to Smoky Hill Township, in Davis Co., Kansas. Sometime before the 1880 census. During the 1880 census his wife, Agnes, is recorded as being disabled with a spinal illness or development of some type. Agnes dies sometime before 1900.
